Leather Repair Training - 2 Days

Colourlock are a world leader in the field of leather and all our products are modern water based formulas that are used in the OEM industry. Major car manufacturers such as Bugatti, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche/VW/Audi all have Colourlock repair stations at the end of the production lines to repair damages caused during manufacture. 

Colourlock also work with leading furniture companies and are involved with supplying products and chemicals to the leather tanning industry and leather manufacturers.

Day 1 -

• Introduction to Colourlock
• Understanding the surface – leather production and types of leather.
• How to identify different types of leather & vinyl
• Understanding our product range and areas of application for leather, vinyl, artificial leather and hard plastics
• Cleaning, conditioning & Protecting leather – hands on session
• Understanding Colour mixing – how to colour match using our special free app & other techniques
• Introduction of Colourlock "Colour Scanner Pro" - Spectrometer
• Colour matching – hands on session
• Lunch and refreshments provided daily

Day 2 -

• Introduction to repair techniques & types of repairs to leather, vinyl and plastics
• Preparing leather for repairs, masking, surface preparation etc
• Using a spray gun and airbrush (cleaning & best practices to maintain equipment)
• Re-colouring seat bolsters and steering wheels – Sponge & spray applications
• Repair scratches & scuffs, rips, tears and holes in leather – hands on session
• How to replicate leather grains for seamless repairs
• Repairs and colouring of hard plastics
• Pricing structure – how to price jobs in your business
• Summarize, go through training manual & certification
• Q & A
• Lunch and refreshments provided daily
